Kidnapped Rivers APC chieftain, two others regain freedom

THREE persons, including a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Mr John Enebeli, who were kidnapped on Saturday, have regained their freedom.
John Enebeli, Afam Onyia and Augustine Enebeli were abducted in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
They were said to be on their way back from a ceremony when their captors rushed out from the bush and whisked them away to an unknown destination.
Speaking on the development, the Rivers State APC expressed gratitude to God for the victims’ safe release from the den of kidnappers.
A statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by the State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr Chris Finebone, indicated that the victims were currently undergoing medicals after their traumatic experience.
Finebone expressed gratitude to the Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, State Chairman of the party, Mr Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, other leaders of the party in the state and security agents for intervening in the matter.
“The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress profoundly thanks God Almighty for the safe release of John Enebeli, Austin Enebeli and Afam Onyia by their kidnappers.
“The three gentlemen were kidnapped on the Elele-Omoku Road last weekend. This (Wednesday) morning, they regained their freedom and are undergoing medicals after their traumatic experience.
“We thank our leader and Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Rivers State APC Chairman, Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, other leaders of Rivers APC and security agencies for their timely intervention in various capacities that facilitated the safe release of the three gentlemen.
Confirming the release of the three victims, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Nnamdi Omoni, explained that they were released during a manhunt for the hoodlums.
